Mander Centre and City Links

The Mander Centre has always been proud of its links to the City of Wolverhampton and in 2006 those links continued to grow.

In March the Mander Centre welcomed visitors from Athens as they embarked on the first ever Shopping Centre twinning project. The Village Leisure and Retail Park is described as Athen’s first purpose built Shopping Centre and a delegation from the Mander Centre was invited to Greece to visit the Centre and sample some of the wonderful hospitality on offer.

In return, staff from Athens were invited to Wolverhampton and after being given a tour of the Mander Centre and its workings were treated to a night out at the football where Wolves beat Cardiff 2 - nil, much to the delight of the English hosts.

July saw the coming of age and celebration of the Mander Centre’s involvement in Wolverhampton’s Partners in Progress. The organisation was set up 21 years ago by local business people who held a genuine interest in heralding the achievements of Wolverhampton. Graham Evans, Centre Manager and Chairman of Wolverhampton Partners in Progress commented, “We have always worked closely with our local MP’s and it is true to say that the Partnership has helped to improve the image and importance for the benefits of Wolverhampton”.
